Lorri Garcia-Cottrell is a production manager for HHMI Tangled Bank Studios overseeing day-to-day production and operational issues for projects from development through delivery. She tracks project budgets and liaises with internal and external producers on production, legal, insurance and clearance issues for programs that have aired on PBS, “NOVA” and the Smithsonian Channel.
Garcia-Cottrell brings more than 20 years of experience in cable and broadcast television to HHMI Tangled Bank Studios. She has worked as a production specialist for Discovery Communications, where she managed and tracked production and financial components of commissions and co-productions, from green-light to delivery on multiple Discovery networks including Investigation Discovery, TLC, Science Channel, Military Channel, Velocity and Animal Planet. In a previous role at ZGS Communications, she oversaw a full range of production responsibilities and implemented marketing plans for nationally syndicated programs targeted at the U.S. hispanic market, as well as PSAs and training videos for various governmental and non-governmental agencies including HUD, the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Garcia-Cottrell started her career at ABC Primetime Live where she served as a senior production associate on multiple award-winning investigative programs featuring Diane Sawyer such as the Peabody and Emmy-award-winning “Rush to Read” for ABC Primetime Live, among others.
