February 10, 2025 (Chevy Chase, MD): HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and Passion Planet, a Passion Pictures company, will premiere their latest feature short film, THE BIRDS, at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival on Monday, February 17 at 5:45 p.m. MST.
A Make Waves and HHMI/Tangled Bank Studios Production (USA), Blue Carbon: Nature’s Hidden Power, Doc Feature – In Blue Carbon, Emmy & BAFTA-winning director Nicolas Brown delivers a visually stunning and sonically rich documentary that fuses science and music to reveal one of nature’s most powerful—and overlooked—climate solutions.
Written and directed by Sally Aitken, Every Little Thing is an intimate and moving documentary focused on author and rehabber Terry Masear, who wants to save every injured hummingbird in Los Angeles. Terry takes in the most fragile of patients through her volunteer hummingbird rescue, but the path to survival is fraught with uncertainty and drama. The film will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
The Birds
The flow of water across a giant expanse of featureless mud is pushing hundreds of thousands of birds in motion. The lunar clock shrinks the stage minute by minute, setting in place the start of a battle, or maybe a dance, between a mass gathering of a million sea birds and a single super-speed predator.
