Kelly Sweet

Kelly Sweet is the office manager for HHMI Tangled Bank Studios. She represents the department both internally and externally and facilitates communication with all levels of management. In addition to supporting the Head of Studio and overseeing film festival and award submissions, Sweet provides administrative coordination for studio activities. 

 Sweet comes to HHMI Tangled Bank Studios from Red Rock Films where she was the executive producer of the Kids, Education and Digital departments. She oversaw and produced more than 140 digital shorts for brands including National Geographic Kids, Sesame Studios, Cengage Learning and WebMD. Additionally, Sweet worked on Emmy-winning series such as Disney+’s “Secrets of the Whales.” Prior to Red Rock, Sweet was a producer at National Geographic for over a decade, where she received an Emmy in cinematography for her work on the epic natural history series “Untamed Americas.”

Sweet began her television career at WGBH/PBS¸ where she worked on its acclaimed NOVA science series and several Emmy-winning children’s animated and live-action programs including “Arthur,” “Curious George,” and “Peep and the Big Wide World.” Bringing science content and a love of the natural world to family audiences is her greatest passion. 

Sweet graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Denver and has minors in business, international studies and human wellness.
