
Rachel Fritts
Rachel Fritts supports HHMI Tangled Bank Studios as a science and science journalism specialist across studio projects. She oversees fact checking and provides editorial review on all Tangled Banks Studios projects to ensure the accuracy and clarity of scientific content. Fritts also contributes to digital impact and outreach efforts.
Fritts brings more than eight years of experience in digital science communication to her role. Before joining HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, Fritts worked as a writer/editor for the American Bird Conservancy, where she wrote about conservation and government policies affecting birds in the United States. Prior to that, she worked as a science and environmental journalist, writing for the PBS Digital Studios series “Eons,” as well as a wide range of news outlets including The Guardian, Science Magazine, Audubon Magazine, and Mongabay.
Fritts holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Grinnell College and a master’s degree in science writing from MIT.
