HHMI TANGLED BANK STUDIOS AND COMPLEXLY’S SCISHOW LAUNCH NEW SERIES: SCISHOW FIELD TRIPS

CHEVY CHASE, Md., January 20, 2026 – HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and Complexly have released the first three episodes of SciShow Field Trips, a new series that takes the popular science education channel SciShow out of the studio and on location to visit working science labs across the Boston area.

The first three episodes are now available on the SciShow YouTube channel:

With 8.3 million subscribers on YouTube, SciShow is spearheaded by science communicator Hank Green and has grown into one of the leaders of science engagement online. SciShow Field Trips was designed to push new limits for the SciShow channel, breaking out of the studio and going on location to visit working science labs and their teams.

Rather than explaining science from behind a desk, SciShow Field Trips puts hosts Hank Green and Jaida Elcock face-to-face with the researchers doing the work — following them into working labs to see experiments in progress, meet the teams behind major discoveries, and ask the questions viewers are most curious about. Each episode combines on-the-ground footage with the animation and graphics SciShow is known for, translating complex, cutting-edge research into stories that are accessible, engaging and true to the science.

“SciShow Field Trips gives us a chance to bring audiences to places they don’t often get to go, like the inside of a lab to meet working scientists,” said Head of HHMI Tangled Bank Studios Jared Lipworth. “SciShow has always brought quality science to their audience and now, together, we get to show audiences where and how some of these scientific discoveries are being made.”
